No Flyball Bat!

There once was a baseball bat,
Owned by a magical,mystical cat.
Salem was the feline's name,
But baseball, however, was not his game.

Hit after hit the little young tyke,
Hit a few fly balls and then hit a strike.
He grunted, "Ahh! Curse this left, no, right arm!
Oh I know what to do, I'll cast a bright charm!"

So with the flick of his wrist, and wiggle of his tail,
Never would a ball hit by this bat ever fail.
"Wonderfull! Great! I am very pleased!"
"I bet you'll lose in football!", the others teased.

Salem tossed the bat aside and conjured some gear,
And since, the bat had been unused for 100 years!
However, a century after, a stadium was built upon,
The very same diamond Salem used to play on.

And while remodeling, the bat was found,
And a ball hit by the bat wound never touch the ground,
Nor be hit way up into the stands,
Its legend sung by marching bands.

But Salem returned and grew a green eye,
And reclaimed ownership of the bat who couldn't fly.
